North American bakery to create 90 jobs
NASHVILLE – Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner Bob Rolfe and Weston Foods officials announced today the company will expand its Maplehurst Bakeries, LLC operations in Wilson County. The bakery company will create 90 new jobs and invest $53 million in Lebanon.
“I want to thank Maplehurst for choosing to expand its operations in Lebanon,” Rolfe said. “Since 2011, TNECD has supported the creation more than 4,000 new jobs in Wilson County and I appreciate Weston Foods for bringing 90 new jobs to Lebanon and for continuing to invest in our state. I look forward to seeing this company continue to succeed in Tennessee and in Wilson County.”
Weston Foods, Maplehurst Bakeries’ parent company, is a leader in the North American baking industry, producing breads, rolls, donuts, cakes, pies, bagels, tortillas, cookies, crackers and more. Employing 6,000 employees who operate nearly 50 bakeries across the U.S. and Canada, Weston Foods products are sold in North American retailers, supermarkets chains and foodservice outlets. The company is also a supplier of ice cream cones and sandwich wafers to the dairy industry and a supplier of Girl Scout cookies in the United States. The company’s Wilson County operation makes donuts.
“Our donut business is growing across North America. It’s crucial we add capacity to our existing bakeries where it makes sense,” said Luc Mongeau, president of Weston Foods. “We’re very proud to be adding two high-speed production lines to our already bustling donut bakery in Lebanon. Tennessee’s business climate is ideal for growth and the community has been nothing but supportive.”
With this expansion, Weston Foods plans on adding two new production lines to its current facility in Lebanon.

Lebanon and Wilson County are represented by Sen. Mark Pody (R – Lebanon), Rep. Clark Boyd (R – Lebanon) and Rep. Susan Lynn (R – Mt. Juliet) in the Tennessee General Assembly.
