NASHVILLE — Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam and Economic and Community Development Commissioner Randy Boyd along with SaarGummi Tennessee, Inc. officials announced today the company will expand its manufacturing operations in Pulaski by purchasing additional finishing equipment and improving existing infrastructure. SaarGummi Tennessee, a leading manufacturer of innovative sealing systems for the automotive industry, will create more than 150 new jobs over the next five years.

 “We are grateful for SaarGummi Tennessee’s ongoing commitment to our state and for the new jobs that will be created in Pulaski,” Haslam said. “The momentum of our automotive sector is a direct result of the success of the many manufacturers, suppliers and other automotive-related companies that call our state home, and today’s announcement brings us one step closer toward our goal of becoming the No. 1 location in the Southeast for high quality jobs.”

“Tennessee’s automotive sector employs 111,000 people at more than 900 establishments throughout the state, and these numbers are further strengthened by companies like SaarGummi Tennessee,” Boyd said. “It means a great deal when companies choose to locate in Tennessee, but when they expand their presence here, it’s a vote of confidence to the many competitive advantages our state has to offer. I appreciate SaarGummi Tennessee’s continued investment in Giles County and wish them much continued success.”

SaarGummi is a leading manufacturer of extruded and injected molded elastomer products for the automotive industry. The company operates worldwide out of 15 locations in Europe, North and South America and Asia with a total of approximately 5,000 employees.

Hiring will be done through Staffmark at 1197 W. College St. in Pulaski.

Pulaski and Giles County are represented by Sen. Joey Hensley (R – Hohenwald) and Rep. Barry Doss (R – Leoma) in the Tennessee General Assembly.
