NASHVILLE—Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam and Economic and Community Development Commissioner Randy Boyd announced today that Eagle Bend Manufacturing will expand its current operations in Clinton. The automotive parts manufacturer will invest $54.9 million and create 127 new jobs in Anderson County.

“We want to thank Eagle Bend Manufacturing for choosing to reinvest in Tennessee and creating these new jobs in Anderson County,” Haslam said. “Tennessee continues to be a global leader in automotive manufacturing, thanks in large part to the strong network of suppliers located around the state, and today’s announcement supports our goal of becoming the No. 1 location in the Southeast for high quality jobs.”

“This is an exciting announcement for Eagle Bend Manufacturing, Anderson County and the entire state of Tennessee,” Boyd said. “When companies choose to expand in our state, it sends a message that Tennessee fosters the kind of environment where businesses can grow. Part of that synergy is our effort to become the most aligned state in the nation when it comes to creating a workforce that has the right kind of education to fit the needs of employers, like Eagle Bend Manufacturing, across the state.”

Eagle Bend Manufacturing produces major body structures and assemblies for the automotive industry. This expansion will allow the company to add a new building to its facility, making room for additional equipment to meet demand.

Eagle Bend Manufacturing, a Tier 1 automotive parts supplier for car and light truck OEMs (original equipment manufacturer), has been based in Clinton since it opened in 1987. This is the second expansion for the company in just over three years. In 2012, Eagle Bend Manufacturing announced a $64 million expansion plan and added 100,000 square feet to its facility. Along with this project, the company will create more than 300 new jobs in Tennessee.

“Eagle Bend has been an important part of our community for nearly three decades,” Anderson County Mayor Terry Frank said. “Their hard work and commitment has made them a world-class automotive parts manufacturer, and we are beyond honored that they have chosen Anderson County to continue their growth. We are thankful for the entire Eagle Bend team, and also our economic development team’s desire to focus on our existing industries.”

“Eagle Bend Manufacturing is one of the most innovative automotive parts manufacturers in the world,” Clinton Mayor Scott Burton said. “They have become a leader in developing lighter weight products that improve gas mileage and safety. In addition to providing high paying jobs to our citizens, Eagle Bend is active in supporting our community projects. We salute them on their second major expansion in the past two and a half years.”

“TVA and Clinton Utilities Board congratulate Eagle Bend Manufacturing on its latest plans to expand and create new jobs in Clinton, Tennessee,” TVA Senior Vice President of Economic Development John Bradley said. “It’s always an exciting day when an existing company is committed to continued growth in our communities, and we are pleased to partner with the state of Tennessee, Anderson County Economic Development Association, and the city of Clinton to celebrate this announcement.”

Eagle Bend Manufacturing is a division of Cosma International, an operating unit of Magna International Inc. Cosma is one of the world’s premier global automotive suppliers providing a comprehensive range of body, chassis and engineering solutions to OEM customers around the world.
