The summer season is in full swing. The temperatures are up and all over Tennessee, people are enjoying the great outdoors and the fun activities that are going on during the season. Whether you’re enjoying the mountains of East Tennessee, music of Memphis or the downtown lifestyle of Nashville, there is something for everyone during the summer months. There are so many things going on around our great state during the summer months, how do you choose what to do first? We have made it easy for you with our list of activities going on from June until September. We’ve even broken it down by region to make it that much easier.


WEST

The Levitt Shell’s Free Concert Series – Memphis, TN
Every year, Levitt Shell puts on over 50 free concerts during the summer months, beginning in June and finishing up in early October at Overton Park in Memphis. This event includes live music, local food vendors and is perfect for the whole family. 

Elvis Week – Memphis, TN
Elvis Week is a festival that occurs every August in Memphis. Elvis fans from all over the world gather in Memphis for a celebration of the music, movies and legacy of Elvis Presley. Elvis Week always includes traditional events such as the Elvis Fan Club Presidents Event, Graceland Insiders Event, Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest, special concerts, panel discussions, dances and more.

Sunset on the Square – Collierville, TN
Sunset on the Square, which is celebrating its 25-year anniversary this year, is an annual concert series in Downtown Collierville. Enjoy live music, food and fun in Collierville every Thursday during the summer through July 21. Each week offers a different musical group ranging from oldies rock to swing to country.

 

MIDDLE

Swanky Plank Vintage Marketplace – Spring Hill, TN
Located in the heart of Spring Hill, the Swanky Plank Vintage Marketplace runs from July 13 -14 and is known for its antiques and vintage items. Enjoy on-site food vendors while listening to live music on the shady lawn as well as tours of the historic Spring Hill mansion.

Music City July 4th: Let Freedom Sing – Nashville, TN
Looking for 4th of July plans? Look no further than the Nashville Let Freedom Sing event. This event has everything from free concerts, food vendors and of course, fireworks. This year’s lineup of concerts includes Chris Young, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Jonny P, The Sisterhood, and the Nashville Symphony.

Music on Main – Goodlettsville, TN
Join the Goodlettsville Chamber of Commerce and The City of Goodlettsville for its annual summer music series. Twice a month, from June to August, local bands showcase their talents on the Goodlettsville square. Bring all your family and friends to this free local event.

Lyrics on the Lawn Summer Outdoor Concert Series – Greeneville, TN
This free, family-friendly outdoor concert is held every Thursday starting July 6 in Greeneville, TN. The event is held on the lawn of the Dickson-Williams Mansion in the heart of downtown Greeneville. Bring a lawn chair and enjoy the live music.

Chef’s Table Culinary/Food Tour – Knoxville, TN
Chef’s Table is Knoxville’s leading and unparalleled culinary experience. During the tour, you will dine at some of the city’s most renowned kitchens to sample plates unlike any you’ve had before. This guided walking tour is a great mix of Knoxville history, culture and food all wrapped into one.
